1-year-old bites cobra snake to death in Bihar village, survives incident..
The incident occurred while the child, Govinda, was playing near his home. A cobra came close to him and reportedly entered his hands. In response, the child bit the snake, which died on the spot.
A one-year-old boy in Bihar’s Bettiah village bit a cobra to death after the snake reportedly coiled around his hand while he was playing near his home. The child, identified as Govinda, fell unconscious shortly after and was rushed to the hospital.
Locals said the cobra had slithered too close, possibly agitating the infant. In what they described as a reflexive act, the child sank his teeth into the snake, killing it instantly.
A few hours later, Govinda’s condition began to deteriorate. His family first took him to a nearby Primary Health Centre (PHC), from where he was referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Bettiah.
Doctors at GMCH said the child is now stable and under observation.
Mateshwari Devi, the child’s grandmother, said Govinda’s mother was nearby collecting firewood when the snake appeared. “The snake came out, and the child hit it with something and then bit and killed it. It was a gehuaan (cobra). The child is just one year old,” she said.
