MOSCOW. (Interfax) – The strikes delivered on Monday and Tuesday damaged up to 30% of all power facilities in Ukraine, Energy Minister German Galushchenko during the national telethon on Tuesday evening, according to Ukrainian media reports.
The energy minister said it was a very severe blow to the power grid, as a result of which Ukraine had to halt exports of electricity to the European Union.
“We are doing everything to eliminate the aftermath. Today we have already seen that we have succeeded in this quite well,” the energy minister said.
In particular, the power supply has already been restored in the Kiev region and at this point, there are no plans to restrict it, he said.
The energy minister noted that the situation would not affect the start of the heating season, although it poses additional risks.
